This webinar is completed!

The topic for this session will be Complex Retinal Detachments.

Our guest moderator will be Dr. Flavio Rezende from University of Montreal (UdeM), a world-renowned expert in PVR and complex retinal detachments.

VBS Rounds Format: This online meeting is intended to be an active and informal discussion of retina surgical concepts geared specifically towards fellows and attendings in early stages of practice. For each session, we will present 5-6 surgical videos from a larger pool of submitted videos, followed by an excellent panel discussion. At the end of the session, attendees will vote on the top video. The winning fellow will be entered for a chance to present at a future VBS meeting.

We look forward to seeing you at VBS Surgical Rounds!

Learning how to do retina surgery can be challenging, especially when you’re juggling the other demands of being a new fellow. We invite retina fellows (and others interested in improving their surgical skills) to join us for our webinar discussion series based on Vit-Buckle Academy cases and surgeries.

For our second webinar on August 28th at 8:30 PM EST, Kyle Kovacs and Matt Starr will moderate a session discussing proliferative vitreoretinopathy and trauma surgery, in addition to secondary IOLs. Ali Khan and Yewlin Chee will join as panelists. Our first webinar was a rich and interactive discussion of surgery–we think this one will be as well! Please join us!

No teaching slides are needed. We are aiming for about 8 minutes for the presentation and a 2-minute discussion. Presentations can be sent to Yewlin Chee (yewlin.chee@gmail.com) or Matt McKay (kmmckay@mgb.org). Five to six presentations will be selected for the session. We are looking for video submissions from fellows in training! If you would like to submit a video, please submit a brief powerpoint (clinical history and exam findings, no teaching slides required) and an edited surgical video (3 minutes or less) to John Miller (jbmiller3@gmail.com) via weTransfer by Saturday October 12th. We will select about 5-6 videos for discussion at the rounds.

VBS Rounds Format: This online meeting was the first of its kind, hosting a webinar for nearly a decade now that is dedicated to the education of surgical retina fellows. At the end of the session, attendees will vote on the top video. The winning fellow will be entered for a chance to present at a future VBS meeting.
