The Vit-Buckle Society provides an open forum that mentors developing vitreoretinal surgeons, nurtures innovative surgical technologies and therapeutic approaches for retinal diseases, and fosters best practices.

VBS welcomes all vitreoretinal surgeons to apply for membership. Regular attending physician membership dues are $150 annually. Trainee membership is free and open for vitreoretinal surgery fellows, residents and medical students. Below are the membership requirements:

Successful completion of vitreoretinal fellowship (for full members)
Application endorsed by VBS Executive Board

Membership gives you access to the VBS Annual Meeting as well as regular educational events and discussions. VBS provides an open forum that mentors developing vitreoretinal surgeons, nurtures innovative surgical technologies and therapeutic approaches for retinal diseases, and fosters best practices.

Membership Signup

Applying to become a member of Vit-Buckle Society is easy. Please fill out the entries below and submit your most current CV that includes all up-to-date information. All submitted documents must be in English and PDF format only.

The Membership Committee and the VBS Board of Trustees will review your application and contact you with further steps. Applications are reviewed on a monthly basis and approvals are sent out 30 to 45 days after submission.

VBS offers full membership to those who have completed a fellowship in medical or surgical retina. Trainee memberships are available for current medical students, residents and fellows.

Please download the trainee verification form and have it signed by a mentor practicing ophthalmology and submit a signed copy of the verification form below.

If you have selected medical student, resident, or current fellow as your training status, please submit a verification form of your training status. Ophthalmology residents and fellows may submit a copy of your match letter or the completed Letter of Verification. The letter must be filled out and signed by an ophthalmology attending physician/program director. Medical students are required to have the letter filled out and signed by an advisor in ophthalmology. Please download and use the verification letter provided in the link above. Trainee membership is free and expires upon training completion date.
